Introduction

Leadership is a subject that has attracted many people. Back in the 1930’s social scientists start to examine leadership (The Troop Leader Development Staff Guide, 1974). Everyone, at sometime of life is asked to be a leader, for example, to lead a class or a group. In addition, many situations need leadership. That is to say, leadership plays an important role in a group. A great leadership requires learning many aspects such as leadership skills. This essay has been divided into three parts. The first part deals with the definition of leadership. The second part is about developing leadership and the last part focuses on the impact on leadership.

Leadership has many different descriptions. For example, leadership is to help people to inspire their potential, to develop their special skills or knowledge, and to motivate them to work hard. It is commonly thought that leadership is an activity which is lead organizations or a group of people Northouse describes that for some people, leadership is a trait or an ability, and for other people leadership is a skill or a behavior, and for still others it is a relationship or a process (2015).
