Terms and Definitions 2015

Adwords - A popular internet advertising program run by Google. Google generates revenue for paid search on a pay-per-click basis, based on the number of clicks to searches of the keywords that the advertiser selects.

B2B - Business-to-business marketing is the practice of individuals or organizations facilitating the sale of their products or services to other companies or organizations.

B2C - Business-to-consumer marketing describes a process in which products are marketed are sold from a company (business) to the end user (consumer).

Blog - Blog is a word that was created from two words: “web log.” Blogs are usually maintained by an individual or a business with regular entries of commentary, descriptions of events, or other material such as graphics or video.

Crowdsourcing - Outsourcing responsibility for content development or problem solving to volunteer individuals outside an organization, often by using a social platform to foster collaboration.

Facebook - Facebook is a social utility that connects people with friends and others who work, study, and live around them. Facebook is the largest social network in the world with more than 800 million users.

Flickr - Flickr is a social network based around online picture sharing. The service allows users to store photos online and then share them with others through profiles, groups, sets, and other methods.

Foursquare - Foursquare is a social network in which friends share their locations and connect with others in close physical proximity to each other.

Google+ - Google+ is Google's new social network. It differs in that it promotes social sharing that is more similar to how people share in real life by providing features such as one that limits who you are talking to, creating 1-on-1 conversation.
