My sincere gratitude goes to the lecturers of Mount Kenya University (Kakamega Campus),School of Business and Economics for imparting in me the necessary knowledge that has so much assisted me during my industrial attachment.

I owe special thanks to the Management of the Eldoret Club and the rest of the staff for their unreserved advise, guidance, and technical support. Special thanks goes to my University supervisor for his sincere assessment of my work and for directing me in ensuring the success of my attachment.

ABSTRACT

This report outlines the skills and experiences acquired while on a field attachment. The attachment was three months which were spent in the Finance and Administration department and Procurement department of the club.

This report outlines various aspects of this period such as; History of the club, Organizational structure and duties and responsibilities of key personnel in the club, Skills gained and experiences achieved, challenges met during the attachment, Critique of the University training and the status of the organization,Reccomendations as to how the attachment exercise can be improved by the campus plus a summary and conclusion section.

CHAPTER ONE

1.0 INTRODUCTION

Students of Mount Kenya university studying Bachelor Degree courses are required to undergo an industrial attachment program for a period of at least 3 months in a field relevant to their course of study. The employer agrees to provide the attaché with a progressive educational experience through direct personal contact hours or through a training program. This is an essential academic requirement set by the university senate for the award of any undergraduate degree.
