Individual reflection on the Group work Project AND the Group Presentation

Module Title: Interpersonal Management

Lecturer: Judi Fabian

To begin with, working in a group was enjoyable, memorable and tough at the same time. Me and my group members were assigned the task to give a cross-cultural awareness presentation on the United States of America (USA) to a multicultural audience. As a group, we were all enthusiastic and excited about the group presentation. In the initial meeting, we discussed the question thoroughly and decided on the parts which we will be presenting. We worked together as team effectively and efficiently to produce better results in the end. Everybody in our group is from a different cultural background and each one of us had a different perspectives and styles. However, we worked together in a team with unity and understanding which in my view was the best thing in our group. Our group was unified which helped us to get self inspired and think creatively and work enthusiastically. In my view, we worked extremely well as a group and created a good presentation in the end.

After the initial meetings, due to different commitment outside it was getting difficult to have meetings due to which we had to communicate with each other via web chats or emails. This was an efficient way of communication, however not a substitute of personal meetings. In my opinion, we assigned the tasks successfully and made sure that everybody understood the importance of time. In my view, less meetings was the only aspect which went wrong in our group due to which we were not able to practice our presentation properly. We should have organised more meetings in order to overcome this problem.
