1. Introduction

1.1 Apple’s history

When dated back to 1976, the time that Apple Inc. was founded by Steven Wozniak, Steven Jobs and Ron Wayne, it is hardly to imagine Apple would become such a large scale company. At a very early period, Apple Inc. which was producing just computers. While things are changing so differently since 2001, after a long time exploring on its developing direction, Apple Inc. realized that computer producing is not the only way for its development, and then in its following operation, Apple Inc. started to put an eye on the market of other electronic products, and launches a range of electronic products: iMac, iPod, iTouch, iPhone and iPad. Apart from those electronic products, Apple Inc. also own independent systems for the products, such as iTunes, Mac OS X system, and iOS operating systems.

For the previous 34 years, Apple Inc. has overcome a lot of difficulties and becoming one of the most influenced companies in the world. A question has been raise by many people all over the world, which is wondering why Apple Inc. could success in the competitive industry and achieves such a huge unprecedented success. According to Barnes, D. (2008), operation function is the key part that determines the success of an organization. Thus, in this essay, it will explore how Apple Inc. to have a good operational management does and why it makes drives Apple Inc. to succeed.

The vision statement of Apple Inc. is “An Apple on every desk.” (Inc., 1981)
