The difference between moral and ethical is the reasoning of right from wrong. While in all aspects of work life we all are guided by ethics, morals play a secondary role. Morals are what we know to be correct with reasoning of what has been taught right from wrong. Generally in any major corporation individual conduct in such manors described as moral, and or ethically. Although seemingly these both have similarities they are very different. For the most part individuals seem to easily confuse the two. Moral is referred to as what you are taught to be right, for example it is immoral to sell your body. Ethical is what as a corporation is deemed as inappropriate or against policy. Many times individuals have been guilty of using ethics in a personal way, confusing this with moral issues. Their reasoning has been made in part due to that reasoning being justifiable. A doctor must conduct himself in an ethical manor, yet a good example of this not occurring is performing multiple plastic surgery to an individual who may clearly be in need of different medical attention. Considering that an attorney must defend a client vigorously, keeping in mind although they may hold the truth and may know that their client is guilty ethically they must defend that client. Although morally they should not and suggest their findings to the appropriate parties. Corporate ethical policies determine how an employee should conducts themselves as well as certain guidelines in place. A common example of ethical issues in corporations is that of certain policies that may question the integrity of that worker, a good example of this may be policies of purchase for a consumer. Many a times we are torn between guided ourselves in an ethical and moral manor. A person’s life compass may provide hints, such as a person with good moral values may transfer over with good ethical values.
