The following research paper will evaluate the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) or fuel economy for compact cars for 2010 and 2011. EPA is the Environmental Protection Agency, which ensures that all new cars sold in the United States are required to have fuel economy labels that contain the miles-per-gallon and other helpful environmental friendly information for the consumer. With an unsteady economy and a deteriorating planet consumers are looking for a return on their investment (ROI), not only a more efficient car that saves on fuel but also one that will not destroy the planet any more than is necessary. This research paper will consist of finding information for 30 different compact cars for 2010 and 2011 by comparing and contrasting fuel efficiency, as this can influence a decision for which compact car would be the best purchase. In this paper, an eight-step hypothesis test will be shown comparing the Highway fuel efficiency for the years 2010 and 2011.
