Introduction

In any workplace, problems will arise. Problems can occur at any given time and have a huge impact on production and success. Whether it is miscommunication, failure to plan, insubordination, all will affect the working team. Problems in the work place can not be avoided when you have many people from different backgrounds working as one unit, only lessons can be learned.

Background

Carl Robbins, the campus recruiter for ABC, Inc, had recruited numerous new employees. He has hired 15 new trainees for his supervisor Monica Carrolls and has set up orientation for June 15th, only one month away. Carl has reassured Monica that everything would be arranged on time and go smoothly. Shortly after Memorial Day, while Carl was looking at his new trainees records, he noticed that some trainees did not have their applications complete or transcripts. To top it off, none of the applicants had been sent to the clinic for the mandatory Drug Screening.

After his quick walk to clear his head, he decided to check out the training rooms that were going to be used for orientation. While he was doing so he bumped into Joe, from Technology services, he was setting up computer terminals. Carl reviewed the schedule log and saw that Joe had also reserved the room for the entire month of June for Computer training seminars. Now Carl had incomplete paper work for the new hires, No place set in stone to hold the orientation. Now Monica was expecting everything to go as planned, not knowing that Carl was in a serious dilemma.

Alternative

One method to solve this problem that Carl can suggest postponing the orientation to Monica, until Joe has completed the computer training seminars for the new data base implementation.
