The three companies that I have chosen for this Assignment are three salons, whose names are Keepers of the Krown, Super Cuts, and Trend Sitters. They each have differing operating systems in place that fit each individual companies needs. Although their operation and material managements (OMM) (Jones, 2007) systems vary greatly from one company to the next they all enjoy wonderful success in their business. In the following paragraphs will try to identify the nature of each operating system, analyze the various ways that employees are organized, and explore what kinds of cost are associated with each OMM systems.

The first company Keepers of the Krown is owned and operated by two business partners. They are original in their business, because their salon focuses only on natural hair care and styles. Their target cliental is predominantly those of the African American Community although they are open to serving anyone interested in the services they have to offer. There are two different locations for each Salon and although they are business partners, one runs the daily operation of one salon and the other business runs the daily operations of the other. Each Salon has as a total of five employees and are ran the same. Both salons owner act as managers for each salon. They handle the administrative work connected with the business. This administrative work includes setting appointments, payroll, and keeping a sales ledger. This also includes reordering hairs supplies and products when they are low. Both partners meet together once a month and decide the best way to go about marketing Keepers of the Krown. In these meetings they decide how and where to advertise, and what events they can participate in to attract more business, like going to a hair show or rent a space at the African market place for example.
