represents music and June represents the establishment. In other words, they would rather listen to music than listen to the establishment.

I WAS REALLY HURT TO READ THAT STAMENT THAT THIS POEM WAS THE WORST POEM THEY EVER HERD. I DO NOT THINK THEY COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND IT. I FELL IN LOVE WITH THE POEM IN HIGH SCHOOL BECAUSE WHEN I READ IT I KNEW IT. I WAS GOING THROUGH THE SAME THING AND I WATCHED SO MANY OF THE PEOPLE I KNEW LIVE THAT LIFE STYLE. THAT POEM WOKE ME UP AND MADE ME THINK TWICE ABOUT HOW I WAS LIVING BECAUSE I WAS LIVING ON A PATH THAT WAS GOING STRAIGHT TO MY DEATH. SHE SAVED MY LIFE.]

This tells about what kids do stupid in life acting cool is something kids want in they're young age dieing young isn't this tells about kids that grow up too and became adults and live on the streets today Gwendolyn Brooks Poem is very inspiring for these few line meaning 'Reality'

I believe this poem is short and sweet. It gives you everything you need to know in a couple of lines. The truth of the lines is not hidden, nor hard to figure. It is like a cycle of the wrong choices, which is indicated in every line. However, it is the last stanza that gets you.' We die soon.' All the wrong choices lead to an inevitable death that we all have to face, but this poem gives the grimy life and its consequences. Truly an inspiration. I also don't believe that this is just fixated on young men. Young women make wrong choices too! ! (I am a young woman though-)
