Job satisfaction refers to "a worker's sense of achievement and success" (Encyclopedia of Business and Finance, 2011, para. 1). Job satisfaction is a force that can increase employees' productivity and their personal wellbeing. To upper management, the level of job satisfaction of its workers means that they are motivated and committed with the organization along with providing high quality performance. When job satisfaction is low (e.g. employees exposes to monotonous jobs), it can certainly reduces or eliminates workers' enthusiasm and their initiative; in addition, it can lead to absenteeism and unnecessary turnovers.

California Commercial Investment (CCI) is a real estate company which has recently experienced a high number of employee turnovers. The owners of CCI have decided to conduct a survey to determine the job satisfaction level of its employees by identifying employees concerns, addressing them, and reducing such a high number of turnovers. The survey consists of 13 questions addressing the above problem statement. The survey uses four different of measurement scales, and kept in consideration several ethical issues during its preparation.

Does the Proposed Survey Addresses CCI's Problem Statement?

The proposed survey addresses CCI's problem statement by inviting CCI's employees to express how they perceive CCI's work environment and how it is structured. More specifically, The 13 questions wanted to test several factors that can affect job satisfaction, such as competitive salary and opportunities for promotion; training and other professional growth opportunities; interesting work that provides various challenges and gives the employees the chance to put their signatures on the final product.
