Abstract

President Obama wants everyone in America to have affordable healthcare. He is trying to make that possible by passing into law The Government Mandated Insurance. If this law passes, all Americans will have to have some type of healthcare. A major issue with that is who will be paying for this healthcare. Some economists think that the only way to cover the cost of the nation’s uninsured is by instituting an “individual mandate” that would require everyone to either purchase insurance or pay a fine (Arnst, 2009). If Americans are forced to pay a fine because they cannot purchase health insurance, how will they be able to pay a fine? Will they also make the fine affordable? That statement also raises another problem; if they make the fine too affordable, will it cause Americans to want to rather pay the fine than pay for insurance, which really does not help the problem? They can make the fine high, but the thing is that it would have to be higher than a minimum insurance packet that has a descent amount of coverage.

STEP 3 ANALYSIS OF HEALTHCARE REFORM

Why are there as many as 32 million Americans without Healthcare? The insurance is not affordable, many employers don’t offer and cannot afford to offer insurance for their workers, countless numbers of American’s with lifetime illness have been dropped by their previous insurance carriers for reaching the maximum allowed claims, numerous Americans have no access to insurance do to unemployment and or they do not qualify for government assistance via Medicaid or Medicare, changing employment, which will also change your insurance and then you are denied new insurance because of preexisting conditions are a few reason why so many are currently without the proper insurance coverage.

The Health Care Reform will allow all Americans to have some type of health care coverage. It will ultimately be your responsibility to complete the necessary paperwork to achieve the insurance. The...
