Cause and Effects of Computer Revolution

Computers have revolutionized the whole world, and there is no doubt that the twentieth century is turning out to be the dot com century. Computer revolution began in the late 1940s owing to human ambition and curiosity. In the ancient times, computers were large, expensive and difficult to operate. However, miniaturization of components necessitated the development of smaller and inexpensive computers. As the world becomes modernized, many aspects of life continue to change. People are in need of faster and efficient communication methods. As such, scientists have gone to the drawing board so as to develop smaller, cheap, portable, efficient, and easy to operate computers. This endeavor has sparked a cascade of innovations in the computer world, and this has significantly changed people’s lifestyles.

Communication and economics are the main sectors of life which have been significantly influenced by the computer revolution. Current businesses have been computerized, and this has given business persons a cutting edge over their former compatriots. In fact, non computerized businesses risk failure. As such, computer revolution has exerted pressure on the business world in that business operators, have no option but to computerize their businesses. Large corporations, regardless of the sector they operate in, have based their operations on computing. Computer revolution has also revolutionized the corporate world. Currently, organizations can recruit employees through online protocols offering them work regardless of their location. In addition, people can shop from the comfort of their homes owing to the advancement in computer technology. Computer revolution is acting as an economic dynamo.
