As discussed i will be focusing on one sub-sector of Tourism and that will be accommodation.

Accommodation:

Accommodation is organised through various ways. The most common ways are:

travel agencies, tour operators, directly with the hotel/accommodation provider, internet/web search etc.

Role of Accommodation:

Accommodation plays one of the most important part in tourism . Its role is to provide a safe and comfortable experience. If your accommodation is not a nice and comfortable one then its likely that your holiday experience wont be that nice.With a good place, you can be sure that after a tiring but pleasant day of being out in the open a clean bed is waiting for you so you can take your rest.

Types of accommodation

There are many different types of accommodations available. These include:

· Bed and breakfast ( B & B's)

· Hotels

· Campus

· Hostels

· Holiday parks & campsites

· Chalets

Major divisions in accommodation:

Accommodation sector in tourism industry is a massive industry. To be able to understand it in a simpler form its divided into two major groups which are

1. Seviced Accommodation:

Serviced accommodations provide every thing from food to laundry services.These are available on a short or long term basis.Serviced apartments are less expensive than the usual hotel room.This type of accommodation is becoming more popular these days.It provides convinience when traveling with family as it offers more room,comfort and privacy. It offers a person 'home from home' experience.Serviced accommodation is an alternative for hotel accommodation for leisure or business purposes. These are fully equipped and fully frunished with all mod-cons.Some examples of serviced accommodations are hotels,guest houses,Inns and bed & breakfast.

Serviced apartments are futher divided into two groups.
