Throughout my years at school, one teacher has inspired me to look at life differently. If it was not for him, my perspective in life would be totally different and I would have no motivation to push myself to be a better person and achieve my goals. This teacher taught us to give back to the community, that hard work and dedication pass off, and to help others when they were down. This teacher has had a huge impact on everyone’s life at Cardinal Gibbons High School. Mr. Cubas is an inspirational alumnus, a leader, and a teacher of Cardinal Gibbons High School.

Mr. Cubas inspires his students to give back to the community year round, which allows students the opportunity to put smiles on people’s faces and in the meantime receive their golden cord by graduation. Mr. Cubas hosts the cancer walk at the school every year, to educate people about cancer, and to raise donations for people who are battling cancer. He also coordinates “dress down” days at school to raise money for nearby charities. Mr. Cubas is known for giving back to the community and other countries and he has a heart of gold that can never be replaced.

Mr. Cubas showed us what hard work and dedication was; he spent countless nights putting together special events for us, while spending many hours on important details, when we were innocently sleeping in our beds. He taught us that one should appreciate what others do because you never know how much effort they had put into it. At the end of the day, this man gets numerous blessings from God because of the great things he does for others.

He always told us, “Every time you guys are at lunch and you see a person eating alone, welcome them over to your group and get to know each other.” He always told us to lend a helping hand because that person may be going through some problems and may not know how to cope with them.
