Workplace Romance

1. Argue for the use of Consensual Relationship Agreements (CRAs) in your current

(or future) workplace.

Based on the Corporate Handbook there is no policy addressing workplace romance,

making the use of CRA a vital piece that needs to be incorporate by the Human Resources Department. I am witnessing a workplace romance that is disrupting productivity and creating a hostile and offensive environment for all. The program clients are exposed to this unprofessional situation and they are voicing their options to leadership and staff about the office romance. Unfortunately, the situation is getting totally out of control. Associates of the two involved have tried to make them aware of their actions and the consequences that are occurring. This has been an ongoing situation that is subject to come with a lot of negative repercussions.

Lately, the female has shown jealously towards other females on the job, because the

male is extremely playful, warm and kind. Consequently this could lead to arguments, fighting and inappropriate conduct and treatment that affect other in the workplace.

For that reason it is more than necessary for the use of Consensual Relationship

Agreements in the workplace. This is a prime example, as to why the CRA would be a vital instrument that Human Resources should have in place to protect the company, the employee and the clients. This will be the perfect way to control a circumstance that could possible get totally out of hand. The CRA helps to protect the parties involved and the organization from future ramifications that may arise. It is a great way to outline the policies written that reflect on the expected behaviors of two consenting adults in a relationship.
