Developing Outlines Video Transcript

Hey. I’m thinking about taking a trip. Going to the coast, I think that sounds like fun, going to the beach. I really don’t know how I’m going to get there. I don’t know what I’m going to do. I don’t know where I’m going to stay. I don’t know what I’m going to eat. I don’t know anything. I just know I’m going to take a trip. It’s not a smart way to do it, is it? No. I need a plan, kind of an outline. That’s kind of like what this is, developing an outline. It’s kind of like planning a trip. Let’s say I want to go to the coast. How am I going to get there? Well I can fly or I can take a car. If I fly then I have to rent a car when I get there, so that costs more, so why don’t we drive? So I’m going to drive. What am I going to do when I get there? Well… eat, there’s activities, I can go to the beach. I can surf… oh wait, I have to know where the hospitals are. OK. That will go on my outline. So, how I get there, what I do when I get there, do I sleep in the car or get a hotel? I think I’ll get a hotel. It will be easier. So that’s how my outline develops. How do I get there? What am I going to do when I get there? Where am I going to stay? What am I going to eat? That’s pretty much how you develop an outline. You just outline your plan and the important points, and that way you get an overall picture of what you want to do. I can’t wait to hit those waves.
