We need structure in our daily life specially in any business, without it there would be chaos. Whether it be a new business old, big or small they need to run smoothly to achieve the goals they have set. There are four functions that form this foundation to help any organization be successful. They are very important keys that work together to help achieve a company’s vision.

Planning is one of the four traditional functions of management, it’s a very important because this is how you set your goals and how you will accomplish them. Planning is the first element in managing, as employees you follow company’s plan or managers instructions to achieve company’s goal. Not only is planning important in just your daily personal life but also in the job that you do and the company you work for. Planning is the first thing that I have to do before I even go to sleep. I plan my day as far as what I’m going to do first, what street I’m going to take to get less traffic. At work planning is everything, the company I work for has a department that plans the employees schedules as far as when they will take their breaks and lunches. They anticipate how many calls we will be receiving that day and at what time the call volume will be higher. This forecast lets them schedule employees at that time to meet customers expectations. We have to have all hands on deck to serve our customers. The company also has a plan to improve and do better than past years. For example, NPS is very important for the company I work for and if an employee gets a bad score for NPS they get a coaching. The supervisor and the employee then meet and set a plan to improve this score and meet organizations goal.

Another important element in success is organization. Getting organized is the second step, this is were you’ll gather all your resources to execute and achieve your plan. For the company I work for employees fall under and organizational chart. In my case I am at the bottom and above...
