Competitor is whom are part of your microenvironment and compete for your customers, might try to take your best employees and might distribute through the same channels as your company. Competitors are the internal factor that would affect the function and decision as well as the 4ps strategies of the subway company directly. There are lot of fast food company as a competitor of Subway company in Malaysia, examples McDonald’s, KFC, Burger King, Wendy’s and A&W. Subway strive them hardly to share this fast food markets. Below are the examples that I give as an evidences to prove my views are correct.

McDonald’s fast food restaurant is the population fast food restaurant in Malaysia and worldwide as well. Since McDonald’s are population, so every step it made would directly affect subway. For the example, McDonalds Malaysia launching a new menu that call “Lunch & Dinner time” meal, as a result that will reduce the number of customers of the subway restaurant in Malaysia obviously.

Furthermore, competitors also will affect the decision that subway fast food company want to do. For the example, KFC company decided to provided drive-thru service to the customers. Subway is going to provide delivery service but competitors of subway doing better than subway as they open drive-thru restaurant, so subway decided to change his mind and follow KFC’s step organize the Drive-thru restaurant and try to do better than the competitors.

In the following, when subway company decided to launching a new meal good quality with high price. At the same time, Wendy’s fast food company also decided to launching a high quality meal with lowest price. The decision that Wendy’s company made on price will directly affect the sales of the subway company.
