Welcome everyone my name is ___________ one of the managers here at Winsome Manufacturing Company. The purpose for this meeting is to discuss a new product that we plan on launching the first quarter of next year, approximately nine months from now. We will introduce a new room-sized plastic storage unit suitable to the outside of the home. Since we are currently own a line of injection molds suitable, there should be no problems with manufacturing in-house. To make this new product successful we will require participation from all departments which includes design, production, purchasing, shipping, sales, and marketing (AIU, 2013).

There will be a meeting notice sent out to all the managers from each of the departments listed, along with the necessary company officials, to with help determining the project sponsor, project manager and creating a project charter. To be better prepare for the upcoming meeting and for any potential questions that may be asked I will do some research in the different areas of interest that will mostly focus on the topic and will help with keeping track and staying focus on the topic at hand. Some information that we need to start thinking about is: Who is the project sponsor? Who are the project stakeholders? How will they be involved in the project? Who will be the core team members and on-call team members? Which department should the project manager come? What is the project background/problem statement? What will be the objectives/expected deliverables? What are the ramifications for not doing it? After answering these questions we should be able to create our project charter (PMBOK, 2008).

We must understand what is a stakeholder and what part do they play in a project. Stakeholders that are involved in the project have interests that can be positive or negative that can affect the performance or completion of the project.
