Decision-Making Process Paper

People make decisions in life every day; many of those decisions are very easy to face while others can be very hard to administer. The decision to enroll in college would affect both personal and professional lifestyle changes. Putting together a well thought out and organized process for decision-making may help ease the situation in making a clear and precise outcome. This paper will present facts and steps taken in the process of a personal journey to finally attend college.

After graduating from High School, attending college the next year was not in the immediate set of plans. Rather finding a job in order to save up some money to buy a vehicle and move away from home was top priority. From there one job had led to another, finally moving out and traveling throughout the United States over the next 12 years, landing in Arizona. This is where the fun began. Not until working in the education field did the overwhelming urge to enroll in college become an obsession.

The decision-making process also “involves determining the value or adequacy of alternatives that were generated” (Bateman & Snell, 2011). Besides the many decisions that were made subconsciously from the mind and going with the” gut” feeling may have been risky. The objective of attending college was already known, the rest was a little weary. University of Phoenix (UOP) was the school chosen, after talking to friends and colleagues who have previously attended the online programs. A pro and con list was made for all of the schools involved to better determine the right school with the most advantages. Even though alternative schools were discussed, UOP seemed to be the best option and the perfect fit.
