Overview of the Organization

The main internship I experienced during my time in the master’s program was with the 2012 San Francisco Giants in their Sponsorship and Promotions department. Eventually, this internship helped me land my current full-time job at LeadDog Marketing Group (LeadDog). What I extracted from this internship combined with the tools I learned at USF are the momentum shifting factors that contributes to my current state today – an Account Coordinator for a Hispanic Soccer Tour.

The Giants’ organization truly represents a top-class work environment. As I do not know the exact mission statement of the organization, I can tell from my experience that the organization’s philosophy and goal is centered on top-notch customized fan & client experience. This mindset trickles down from CEO Larry Baer to the guest representatives to the interns. I feel spoiled after experiencing such tremendous teamwork from the entire organization to accomplish such feat. A great example from my experience would be the National Anthem performers. I made sure they were taken care of – from having bottled water to saving a conference room for warming up as well as perfecting their sound check. I made sure their experience was the best in baseball. I created a customized experience from my internship and took full advantage of it.

Administrative Structure

In the sponsorship department in which I was the intern, the organizational structure included the Sr. VP of Business Development, Managing VP of Sponsorship and New Business Development. Below both were the Dir. of Sponsorship Sales, Dir. of Special Events, and the VP of Sponsor and Special Event Support. Below them, it was the sponsorship sales and servicing team, including my direct supervisor, and the promotions coordinator.
