Southwest Airlines
Organizations are necessary in every culture, and each organization operates differently on how they organize. Organizations include many tasks, missions, responsibilities, and services offered to the society. In connection with these services, various organizations in the society abide by certain plans and rules to develop efficient strategies. In the execution of new projects these strategies will then be implemented. When organizations such as Southwest are implementing the organizing function of management, they will include many resources to assist in their organization; these recourses are physical assets, monetary assets, human resources and technology. This paper will discuss the evaluation of the organizing function of management related to the resources discussed above. These organizational resources will also be evaluated in reference to Southwest Airlines and discuss whether or not Southwest has maximized these organizational resources for efficiency within the company.
Physical Assets
Southwest’s stellar staff is an excellent example of one of the physical assets that attract and maintain clientele. The staff follows the “Live the Southwest Way” by applying the warrior spirit, servant’s heart, and the fun-LUVing attitude. The warrior spirit is applied by employees by working hard, desiring to be the best worker possible, and demonstrate a sense of urgency. The servant’s heart is displayed by following the Golden Rule, which is treating others the way you would like to be treated, treat other co-workers and customers with respect, putting other first, and being dedicated in demonstrating quality customer service. Lastly, is the fun-LUVing attitude which is simply having fun, employees enjoying their job, and being a team player (Southwest Airlines Co., 2010).
