Party Plates Sales Department Goes Wireless

The president of the party plates has requested a new proposal for the sales department. Our team was asked to recommend two wireless technologies that would benefit the company. When selecting the wireless technologies the pros and cons must be taken into consideration. Our team must then come to a decision on the technologies and expose the risks of using the tools. A spreadsheet will also be presented to track cost and software or hardware requirements for the proposed technologies.

Why Go Wireless?

As a group we came to a decision to put forth two wireless technologies that would best benefit our company. Since Party Plates is a party planning company, we feel that laptops would be a large asset. Being able to communicate anywhere at any time is key to the success and the moving forward of the company. The employees of the department will more than likely be on the road will need the company resources. By having portable technology like laptops, this becomes possible. The next wireless technology that we selected was wireless Internet or Wi-Fi at the office. This gives employees the ability to move around freely among one another. Staying connected to the company network as well as the Internet without being directly connected to the wall keeps employees from being confined to one space. Wi-Fi also makes it possible for many employees to be connected at one time depending on the number of units available.

The good and the bad.

There are countless wireless technologies that can be used to make the Party Plates organization more proficient. The proposal we have is to incorporate Wi-Fi and laptops into our company. Utilizing Wi-Fi and laptops in our company will enable Party Plates to be more competitive, efficient and organized.
