1. Describe Ken Wilbur’s theory of integral medicine. How integral theory is different than the theories traditionally applied in American (Western) Health professions?

Ken Wilbur’s theory of integral medicine refers to the systematic holistic philosophy (Wilber, 2009). The integral theory differs from theories in the Western health professions by the way they believe in things on how they heal people. Integral theories state that exercising and yoga can help with the healing of a person mind, body and soul. The Zen of person will be centered. Western health professions believe in medicines will do the trick for a lot of illnesses and sicknesses. We live in a world of a quick fix, and medicine is a quick fix to everything.

2. Conventional medicine focuses primarily on the physical body (biological). However, integral healing focuses on multiple dimensions of the human experience. Describe each of the four areas of focus within the integral healing model and discuss why each area is important to total wellness?

In the integral healing model had four areas of focus and they are the inner self, if you are content with yourself and you are in tune with yourself then you life is great. The next area focus is the exterior self, what you show people on the outside is what people think of you. If you’re a good person people will treat like a good person. Another area of focus is the inner collective, which is the cultural side of the focus area. Having culture will help you inner mingle with people, and help you get along with people. Then you have the exterior collective, which is the social side of the focus area. Being social is a great for your body and great for your character. Being social brings friends and friends that are good bring good vibes.
