Electric Cigarettes Persuasive Speech

Specific Purpose: To persuade my audience to make the transition from an analog cigarette to an electric cigarette.

Central Idea: Three main reasons to make the switch are because they are healthier, cost less, and more enjoyable.

What addiction can cost you over $180 a month, $2,100 dollars a year, or over $21,000 dollars over the course of ten years? If your guess is smoking then you are correct. That is a lot of money when you consider it not going to soothing that you or your family can use. Have you wanted to quit but can’t? Well, today I am here to tell you there is an alternative to smoking that will save you money and be healthier for you. I can going to give you some main reasons why you should make the transition to an electric cigarette.

First, they are healthier. Cigarettes are to blame for numerous deaths in the United States due to the adverse health effects that account for more than 440,000 deaths, or nearly one of every five deaths, each year. They are known for their ability to cause over ten different types of cancers that just tear people’s lives apart. There are approximately 600 ingredients in cigarettes. When burned, they create more than 4,000 chemicals. At least 50 of these chemicals are known to cause cancer, and many are poisonous. E-cigarettes don't contain tobacco. Instead, there's a mechanism that heats up liquid nicotine, which turns into a vapor that smokers inhale and exhale. Manufacturers and satisfied customers say that this nicotine vapor offers many advantages over traditional cigarette smoke. But regulatory agencies and some health experts aren't sure. They're asking questions about the possible side effects of inhaling nicotine vapor, as well as other health risks e-cigarettes may pose -- both to users and to the public.
