Correctly Communicating Performance to Employees

Abstract

Human resources serves as an important part of any business no matter how large or how small. The human resource department deals with the most important part of the business, the employees. In order to make sure all of the employees are doing their job and doing it well, human resource managers must develop a way to measure each employee’s performance based on their position in the company. If delivered correctly, a performance evaluation lets the employee know what they are doing well and what they need to work on. Performance evaluations are used to determine promotions within a company as well as pay raises. They also set apart underperforming employees from the employees who consistently do a good job. Performance evaluations help employees learn what they need to work on and the areas in which they are excelling, which can help boost motivation and moral of the employee, team, and company. Performance evaluations can also give employees short and long term goals to work towards which can help boost productivity in employees.

Introduction

The human resource department in any company has an important role; they deal with employees who are vital to the company and help in determining how successful the company is. Not only does the human resource department protect the company from unnecessary lawsuits, it also helps avoid costly errors and mistakes, and makes sure the right employees are in the right positions. They also make sure employees know what their job title means make sure they possess the necessary skills needed to complete their job, and that they are being given the training needed to complete any task their position requires them to do.
