World Leader Essay

Throughout history there have been many great leaders, leaders that believe in human rights and equality of all people. One outstanding leader was Martin Luther King Jr. he was from a ministry in Montgomery, Alabama where he started a nonviolent movement against segregation among blacks and whites. There was a large amount of racism in America at the time and segregation was a big problem. He believed and preached for equal rights among all.

On the other hand have been some extremely terrible leaders who did not believe in human rights and were often causes of large genocides. Where they would kill certain races or people who were seen as a threat to their leadership position. Joseph Stalin was a good leader in some ways, but did a lot of horrible things to people in his country and neighboring countries. He the dictator of the Soviet Union.

Joseph Stalin ruled by power surrounded by central government strenght and and terror, he often killed officials in his government that he thought was a threat to overthrowing him. He had lobar camps much like the ones that Adolf Hitler established for Jewish people in Germany and countries that he had taken over. he would send people there for reasons that many people did not understand. His government controlled all of the media, not allowing the freedom of press. He had extreme and unusual punishment in his labor camps. Jefferson would probably think that Joseph Stalin was a horrible leader because Stalin did not believe in the basic human rights and did not allow many of the rights Jefferson believed in. Like; freedom of speech, religion, petition, and press. Stalin would send people who protested straight to labor camps. Stalin is not currently in power and he did not fall because of protest, he died while he was still the dictator. Russia was in “destalinization” after his death because everyone knew how bad of a leader he was....
