INTRODUCTION

The purpose of this report is to analyze and evaluate the overall effectiveness of service provided by Applebee’s. Staff and facilities will be evaluated and graded as well as the overall customer experience. After full evaluation, I will suggest way to make improvements if any.

Background

Applebee's is a casual dining and family oriented chain restaurant. The first Applebee's restaurant opened in 1980 in Atlanta, Georgia. Throughout the last 30 years, Applebee's turned into a large franchise, currently having close to 2,000 locations all across North America. The company has expanded internationally as well as domestically, with its location in 49 states and eight foreign countries. In 1980, Applebee's started with the same philosophy that they follow today, serving good food to good people, and has stuck by it ever since (Applebee’s.com).

Applebee’s has three different commitments - their team, their costumers, and making profit. The company makes sure to provide each and every employee with the opportunity to strive. This is done by providing the proper training, setting high standards and expectations, allowing for constructive criticism, and making room for growth within the company. According to the website, the guests of Applebee’s are always honored and are expected to be wowed with their experience, by exceeding their expectations each and every time they dine. Applebee's is changing everything. It's changing its food — with a focus on fresh ingredients. Their menu includes 500 calorie meals as well as the 2 for $20 feature for the bargainer (usatoday.com). It's changing the look of its stores — with more contemporary designs. Lastly, Applebee’s is committed to profit, but this is not their main objective.
