Report This Essay

Regarding the Casey Anthony trial, I do believe that the prosecutor would have been more successful if they would have went for a lesser charge. Proving beyond a reasonable doubt that Casey Anthony intentionally killed her daughter seemed difficult and prosecution would probably had been more successful if they weren’t content on proving intent. I also believe that Casey’s actions during the time her daughter was missing was very bizarre. Me being a parent, I would have reported my daughter missing the SECOND I realized that she was gone, especially at such a young age. Sadly, little Caylee Anthony did not receive justice for whatever may have happened to her. That case is a prime example of that you never know what the jury’s verdict is going to be.

Regarding the optional seminar, if we do attend, will we get a grade for it?

I always thought the federal court retried the case. I learned something new by you stating that they don’t. What I took from the seminar is that they basically make sure the law was being followed and no one’s rights were violated. I also thought when a conviction was overturned, you were pretty much “free” in a sense. I didn’t realize you had to go through a new trial. I do wonder though, if this happens, is it possible that you would get the same judge that you had before. The Supreme Court seems like it would be pretty hard to reach. I know the Supreme Court is probably “picky” about what cases they hear but what reasons would they give for not hearing a case? Does it have to be high profile, they have to consider it to be of high priority or importance? I found this seminar to be very interesting and informative.
