High Position with an MBA’s Degree

One of my bosses asks me why I want to pursue a Master in Business Administration (MBA) because MBA is nothing to him. He only has a bachelor’s degree in business administration but he still has good business and earns high income. I agree with him that having an MBA degree does not mean earning high salary in the current economy downturn, which there are a lot of unemployment and there are a lot of people who have MBA’s degrees with low incomes or without jobs. However, for me, pursuing an MBA means that I will have high position in my future career.

First, high position is higher education level. MBA is a postgraduate degree which extends the knowledge which I already learned or which I already had experience with. The interesting of an MBA is that everyone who has a bachelor in art or bachelor in science degree can pursue an MBA degree. I think everyone has more opportunities to learn and to get into the business world. In the undergraduate school, I studied business administration concentrating in Finance. Basically, I learned a lot of theories in business applications, but I did not know much what to do after I got the bachelor degree. Throughout an MBA program, I will be learned more concepts and researches from an MBA school and experienced professors as well as experienced classmates. Why are the experienced classmates? It is because most of MBA schools require applicants to have at least two-year experience to get in. Some online schools do not require. However, people take online programs because they do not have time to go to face-to-face schools for some of reasons such as working full-time jobs, or working part-time jobs and taking care of families, so most of them have already had experience. Also, MBA will help me extend my experience which I have already had after two years working.
