There are several differences between a centralized model of management and a decentralized model of correctional institution management. It is a fact that all companies and organizations have to engage in a making decisions on a daily bases. These decisions can vary from operational to strategic in nature. There is also a process in the way daily and future decisions are made, they are governed by whether the organization is centralized or decentralized. With this being said it is now obvious that all companies and organizations have structures that vary (Joseph, 2014).

There are obvious differences between centralized and decentralized management systems. The most outstanding difference is the fact that they use opposite ways of delegating decision-making power. However when putting each system in to action scholars have not ascertained that the centralized model of management and or a decentralized model of correctional institution management is the perfect system or the ultimate solution for all organizations (Joseph, 2014).

When regarding the centralization organization management system all of the important information is reserved for top management. With this management system the power is concentrated to the top officials of the company and or organization. The centralization organization management system approach is not a democratic approach; instead it is an autocratic approach of management and decision making (Joseph, 2014).

With the centralization organization management system only the top tier individuals of the company and or organization has all the power. In the centralization organization management system all of the power in the organization is a limited number of people which is upper management and these individuals also enjoy a wide spectrum of control (Gilani, 2014).
