Career Development Plan Summary

InterClean has gone through many changes in the past few months. David Spencer, The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) has successfully changed the company for more opportunities. InterClean recently merged with one of its main competitors in the industrial cleaning and sanitation industry, EnviroTech. This merger kept in-line with the strategic plan of revamping the sales department to be more effective for new and existing clients. The CEO saw that product sales would start to diminish without some type of product support. This product support would come in the form of solutions and services that would streamline cleaning efforts. InterClean would embark on product sales, services, solutions, and training (InterClean, 2010). To ensure full success of the sales department, creating a career development plan was crucial. This plan would be a guide for the company to effectively lead and manage the sales department, properly take care of employees, and ensure profitable outcomes. It would also benefit employees by giving them all the essentials required to have a profession where opportunities are endless in personal and professional growth.

People are the most important asset of any company. It is the responsibility of the company to take care of their employees and the employee’s responsibility to support their employer. In an effort to establish the new sales department, seven individuals were selected based on their skills, experiences, and needs of sales to support the strategic plan. Jim Martin will be Vice President (VP) of the entire department. His vast knowledge as a sales manager and industrial cleaning and sanitation industry make him a perfect fit to lead the team.
