Hello,

I sincerely apologize for late submission but hoping that despite being late I can view my points. I am encouraging all to go to the link in order to appreciate my analysis.

The MacDonald ads of “have you had a break today” have multiple meanings and the brand shows that it can serve different groups within different market segmentation.

In polysemy we have different meanings to the ads, as people are able to break away from their life styles, work, schools and homes etc for a meal at MacDonald. Consumers are persuaded to take a break and have fun. The ads cater for all the groups and cut across all classes hence every one can afford to have meal.

From the conversation, one is able to tell that this is a polysemy ad type of advertising, because the communication or ads is open to different interpretations. We have schools children, delivery truck, small kids and white collar type of employees, something that indicates that Polysemy do occur around two or more audiences at a certain point, as we can see different family groups taking a break away from home for a meal.

Another example is that of PepsiCo-“the choice of a new generation.”

The ads targeted a segment of generation age groups being the children, young-stars and the youth. We see two of group of people coming together to celebrate the sweetness of the drink. The perception is that even if is extremely very cold as we see the group putting on winter jackets, cloths and socks, still the beverage is taken almost every time. This shows that there is a sensation attachment to the brand.

The ads also indicate that the same ads brings peace for they are those holding spears and marshal but they quench the heat, fear and discomfort by taking the beverage( another link) within the same websites which how integrated the PepsiCo is. The brand positioning...
