Reflective Essay # 2

1. These last weeks if NCOA has been filled with more knowledge based on the lessons. One lesson that I enjoyed and learned a few other things would have to be when we talked about Temperament’s. It was very interesting and frustrating at the same time. Some of the temperaments were obvious with certain classmates. I wasn’t surprised with my results because the color fit me perfectly. Understanding one’s temperaments can improve the military’s mission by providing insight into; behavior and values. We will all encounter some kind of Temperament at some point in our careers, so I feel it is important to understand peoples and the temperaments.

2. My “aha” moment when we are discussing and in team discussion honestly helped me understand what vibe I give off to my Airmen and sometimes my leadership. I tend to have a certain face (serious) when I am working in just walking thorugh the halls. I am on a mission and I want to get the job done. My Airmen come to me and know that I will help. I think I give off this vibe when I first meet them that they think I am not approachable or that I am just mean. I feel that I want to change my first interaction with my people and possibly it could change the dynamics of the office right away.

3. What I have when we do group projects is really how everyone thinks differently and how we can let one speak and take others ideas in a respectful way. I like that my class does that. No one is trying to out speak one another or thinks they know more. I enjoy hearing different opinions and I feel we will become more efficient subordinates and supervisors.
