The Importance of a College Education

Every year, the number of graduating high school students graduating is higher and higher. Now, fast forward four years, those same students are now supposed to be college graduates, but less than half of that same high school graduating class is graduating college. Sadly, there are so many reasons why students can’t attend college. There are even more reasons why that cannot continue the college education and have to drop out. Having a high school diploma is important but going to college can get you that dream job you've always wanted.

College Application Process

Getting the application process done can be very frustrating for seniors. There are seniors that don’t even know what to do to get started. Well, this should help you out a little. Seniors, you should create a College Application Checklist. The first thing you want to do is do your research, figure out which school or schools you want attend. Once you’ve done that, request for more information and application forms from the school. Next you want to find out the application deadline for every school you would like to apply to. Then you need to get a copy of your high school transcript thus far.

Now, next you want to send each school a copy of you SAT or ACT score. Then you need to get letters of recommendation. Those are best gotten from teachers and other faculty. People that know you and would like to see you succeed and be accepted into college can give great letters of recommendations. Next, is the dreaded college essay. Go to a teacher or someone you know that can help you and or give you tips on completing your essay. Once your essay is completed, you will need at least two other people to read over it for mistakes in punctuation and grammar.

Now, here is the fun part, it’s time to tour the colleges that you have applied to and do you final interview. By now, your senior year should be coming to an end, which means now it is time to get your financial aid...
