(1) Explain it matters that a parent literally had nothing to do with a biological child in order for the child to take advantage of the Family and Medical Leave Act to care for that parent.

Parents are compelled to provide their child these basic essentials. These basic essentials are food, clothing, and adequate medical care. Once a child’s physical needs have been met, a parent should also take care of their emotional needs for example seeing them off to school, and taking the most appropriate disciplinary action when necessary. Just like the parents they have responsibilities. In that same aspect, children owe the same duties to their parents these responsibilities include; they are to respect their parents; take whatever abilities or traits and use to them to the best of their abilities, they must obey their parents, teachers, and those adult’s who has influence over them; and behave according to acceptable standards. An adult child is expected to take care of a parent if they are economically strapped and need help because they are unable to work, health issues or just old age (Family Law, n.d.).

Parents excuses for abandoning their children can vary somewhat, these are some of the commonly used excuses, some parents abandon their children because of financial difficulties, or there are spending jail time in a correctional facility for criminal charges, and the parent was just not mentally stable enough to provide for their child (Ward,...
