So...some Asian people asked me to write about my college experiences. Well that seemed like a pretty broad topic to me so I narrowed it down to one that I felt most in tune with: sucking at all things academic.

My Learning Disability

Thirty minutes left of lecture and I can barely keep my eyes open. My hand keeps slipping, and I’ve already dropped my pencil twice! Embarrassing. But not embarrassing enough to keep me awake. Perhaps I shouldn’t have eaten that enormous sandwich for lunch because now I’m suffering from a dire case of food coma. College is looking a lot like high school.

Thirty minutes after lecture and I finally summon the courage to attempt my first calculus problem set (aka homework). Solutions to the first half of the problems are included in the back of the book – score! Filled with dangerous confidence, I read the first problem. So…I think I know how to do this. I begin scribbling in my notebook only to be interrupted rudely twenty seconds later by a reality which I call No-You-Don’t-Know-This. There’s only one way to fix this problem; I consult my textbook, my course notes, and my lecture notes (which cover approximately 25 minutes of lecture). Again, I attempt to solve the first problem and this time I succeed. Unlike high school, the next problem isn’t the same thing with a couple switched digits. I can definitely tell that it involves the same concept, but I’m not exactly sure how to approach the solution. Now I need to make a decision: should I attempt to solve the problem myself and risk wasting paper and time or should I just look in the back of the course notes for the solution? Well, I’m lazy so I opted for the latter. Just a hint! Just to get me started! Nothing wrong with that, right?

Thirty minutes later I have successfully produced the answers to all the part one problems. Now it’s time to do part two. At first glance, I notice that the problems are a bit…how I put it… long-ish. This is...
