Running head: Problem Solving: A More Strategic Approach Problem Solving: A More Strategic Approach to Kudler Fine Foods Sherika Pugh University of Phoenix Abstract In an approach to work through Kudler’s Fine Foods (KFF)problems, several issues must be addressed. There is no professional, financial or accounting management system. KFF’s marketability has not expanded. Its current inventory system is time consuming and costly. KFF has several futuristic ventures simultaneously. KFF looks to increase marketability, organization, and profitability within the next five years by hiring professional management to restructure finances and operations, by retaining customer-oriented employees, and by expansion of territory in the gourmet food industry. KFF is to exponentially improve the performance of the organization year after year with the introduction of a professional management system. There are several solutions andrisks. However, KFF must weigh each for the betterment of the organization. Problem Solving: A More Strategic Approach to Kudler Fine Foods Kudler Fine Foods (KFF) is an independently owned organization with three current locations. These gourmet food stores specialize in meats, produce, cheeses, and wine. Kathy Kudler, the owner, manages and operates each her, even though she employs store managers and specialty department workers. Her stores are located in California in La Jolla, Encinitas, and Del Mar. Sales at each location are great, fair, and poor, respectively. Kudler intends to relocate the Del Mar store to Carlsbad. KFF must restructure her organization in order to grow financially. _Describe the Situation_ KFF has not expanded marketability, yet a hefty advertising budget. Kathy spent $263,000 in advertising in the first year of business and plans to increase this number to $368,200 the following year.
