W. Edward Deming, the guru of management during his time, stated that at any given time in the workplace no more than two out of 100 managers and 10 out of 100 employees are happy in their work (Tschohl, 1999). Doctor Deming’s research was and still remains an interesting observation, considering it is challenging to provide good quality service, unless employees enjoy their work and workplace environment. Deming also found through research that people are motivated from the satisfaction they gain from work are not only creative and productive, but also they are successful in the workplace (Deming Institute, 2012).

Disney Corporation

Any business whether small or large, strives to get the most productivity out of their employees. Every employee comes to the workplace with different challenges in their personal lives that can take away from productivity, such as personal finances, time schedules, and family issues. These personal life circumstances can prove to be challenging and may cause employees to become less motivated in the workplace which will affect productivity. Most employers have become aware of the personal life challenges their employees face and have redesigned the workplace environment to motivate the employees and increase productivity.

The Walt Disney Corporation has proven to be one of those companies that have and continues to redesign their workplace catering to their employees creating highly motivated employees that are creative and productive (Disney, 2012). The Walt Disney Corporation has created a safe, cheerful, productive, and motivating workplace environment filled with employee perks that make the Disney Corporation an exciting work experience for its employees.
