The ethical dilemma issue experienced was while working in a hospital as a (HHA) Home Health Assistant supervisors asked me to go to a different floor of the hospital to attend to a patient there. My job requirement was to try not to leave any patients unattended stay with them or leave someone with him or her until I return to my post (UOPX, 2012).

The individuals in question are B.J, and I, he insisted I leave, and that he would appoint someone to take care of my patient during the time of my absence to take care of another patient for him. He told me that he had taken care of the matter with my patient M, who I was caring for at the time when he came to me for assistance with another patient on another floor of the hospital (UOPX, 2012).

B.J. was my supervisor at the hospital, the head nurse for my floor attempted to speak to my supervisor B.J more than once, but was never available. This dilemma drag on and made me very uncomfortable not knowing what the consequences would be if I were going to be fired or suspended. This was the worst experience I had ever had, a supervisor trying to have me terminated because he wants to put someone else there in my place. However, there was a difference in power and authority because as I stated earlier in this paper B.J. was my supervisor on the floor in the hospital where I were employed. My supervisor and I both violated the “Code of Ethics” of the hospital by not following protocol (UOPX, 2012).

My personal value was in conflict and so was my supervisor’s B.J. I could have lost my job. To my surprise when I returned my patient M, was alone and almost of her bed. Whereas, I did not know in my absent the head nurse of my floor J. had come into my patient M’s room to check her vitals. This head nurse J. threatened to write me up for leaving M. my patient alone.
