GEN 105 Checkpoint: Multiple Intelligences

It said that people with interpersonal intelligence like me are good in understanding and interacting with other people. It also mentioned that we are skilled in assessing the emotions, motivations, desires and intentions of the people around me. I must say that this site described me to the point. That is exactly how I am. My friends always tell me how I do it, how I can calm people down. I tell them that I know it comes naturally.

This web site mentions some things that I also do. For example I watch how other people communicate, Read social cues. I practice empathy when someone is having a problem. I put myself in their position. I control my emotion; I wait for the appropriate time to express my emotions, because I do not want to approach them the wrong way.

I am pursuing the career of being a drug counselor. It also gave me some great ideas of setting up a small study group so I can discuss the subject with others. Talk about what I have learned which I thought it is a great idea.

Interpersonal:

I would describe myself as a person who has the ability to perceive and understand the motivations and emotions of others. That in a discussion dealing with personal problems I have empathy and put myself in the other person’s position. I have the ability to calm people and talk through personal problems without getting too involved. I have good communication skills. I am very assertive when talking to others and getting my point across.
