Abstract
Incentives are a way of activating or energizing a person towards a particular target. The primary aim of this research is to evaluate the effects asserted by incentives on students overall performance on examinations and attitude towards the school system. As merit promotions have been launched in different sectors of schools, not many comprehensive studies have been conducted on their effect on student performance. This study will also help determine whether indirect stimulation is necessary to boost student performances. This will be a descriptive kind of a research, focused on reporting findings of the research to be carried on a number of schools.
Key words: performance, incentives, attitude, effect.
