Introduction

The effective delivery of a prepared welcoming to a new employee will project the organization and effort the Human Resource department staff took to create a positive impact and enjoyable experience with the organization. “The early days for a new employee set the platform for the relationship between the employee and your business. It is usually the most difficult time for both parties. Sadly, many new staff members are thrown into the workplace, left to their own devices and expected to perform. It is no surprise new recruits become disillusioned. With a bit of preparation you can ensure your new employee becomes a confident, fully functioning, successful member of your business team. How your newcomer progresses depend on many things, but research indicates that the help they receive in the early stages of their employment with your business can make all the difference” (Paiyo, 2010)

Employee and Labor Relations

Human Resource Management goal is to balance the needs between employer and employees. Irene Kemp was recently hired at Key Data Processing as a payroll clerk. Ms. Kemps needs as a new hire were not met. The Human Resource manager failed to prepare to receive Ms. Kemp as a new employee, HR failed to notify other managers, supervisors and staff about the joining of Irene to the accounting department, and there was a clear disorganization and lack of coordination in the orientation process. “Orientation, which is the planned introduction of new employees to their jobs, co-workers, and the organization, is offered by most employers.
