Malfunction in the Body (respiratory system)

Common respiratory diseases consist of asthma, acute bronchitis, lung disease, emphysema, lung cancer, influenza, pneumonia, and finally the common cold. Symptoms of asthma are wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, intercostal retractions, and coughing. Treatment for asthma consists of relief medication as needed depending on how bad your asthma is you take different treatments.

Acute bronchitis is an inflammation of the main air passages to the lungs it lasts a long time and often recurs. Symptoms for acute bronchitis include shortness of breath, wheezing, fever and chest discomfort. Treatments for acute bronchitis is take aspirin prefebly Tylenol if you have a fever, rest, drink plenty of fluids, use a humidifier, DO NOT smoke which will only make everything worse. 

Lung Disease is a condition when damaged tissue in the lungs causes breathing and health problems. Lung disease causes the lungs to trap air and fill with fluid and produce extra mucus. People with lung disease experience shortness of breath and tend to get respiratory infections they also cough a lot. Treatment for lung disease is to provide the patient with extra oxygen, medications limiting fluids, and nutrition. 

Emphysema is when someone has to work hard to expel air. Symptoms to emphysema are shortness of breath and reduced capacity for physical activity. Treatment for emphysema is bronchodilators which are drugs that can help relieve coughing, shortness of breath and trouble breathing. Next are inhaled steroids, supplemental oxygen, protein therapy, antibiotics and surgery. 

Lung Cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in the world. Symptoms of lung cancer are coughing, coughing up blood, chest pain, wheezing, and repeating respiratory infections. Treatments for lung cancer are treated mostly by surgery to remove the tumour.
