Network Infrastructure Global Reviewing is a centralized based in Kuala Lumpur providing audit rail report reviews for ACS, Network Security, Netscout and AFS avtivities. The Global Reviewing team consists of six Network Security Analysts and I was the last one to join the team. The members of Global Reviewing team are part of Network Infrastructure / Global, Europe Africa & Middle East Operations (EAME) and Asia Pacific (AP).

We are responsible for three regions which are Asia Pacific, Europe Africa & Middle East and America. Our responsible as a Network Security Analyst is to perform review, verification, exception handling and escalation to ensure potential security exposures are detected. As a Network Security Analyst, we have to ensure that a timely and properly approved remedy ticket and documentation is available to justify each analyst’s activities which are captured in the audit trail reports. If we came across records with unsuccessful verification, it will be subjected to the exception handling process and a monthly scorecard comprising of all exceptions will be reviewed by Network Infrastructure Management. An exception is the final notification sent to the supervisor of an analyst when activities performed are not in line with the documented process. All these escalation processes are done via email.

There are four types of reports being reviewed which are ACS Tacacs, Network Security, Automated Firecall Report and Netscout (Full Data Capture). These reports will be reviewed by us on a monthly rotational basis. By rotating the types of reports, each network security analyst will have the skills and knowledge on reviewing each type of report. This will also reduce the risk of us getting bored by reviewing the same reports every month and chances for quitting the job decreases too.
