As the Manager of Blessings Hospital of Prince George’s County, it has come to my attention that this organization is getting ready to be taken to higher heights in productivity and accountability. First of all, I would like to commend all the staff members who have went over and beyond the call of duty to make sure that our hospital is meeting the highest standards of all. We believe here that patients are first and we care about the importance of their well being. I just wanted to inform you all that what you have been doing is good but I want to prepare for some changes that are coming about. I know that some of you don’t like change and neither do I but change is what helps us grow and make us stronger people. If things would just stay the say way all of the time then none of us would learn anything. I can assure you that the change that is getting ready to take place is to better you as an individual and our company. Just listen to what it is that will help you and you will like it.

I wanted to take this time to explain a little about “motivation”, in which some of us are motivated and others of us are not (Lombardi, 2006). As a person you have to take time out to see what motivates you as a person. For example, motivation is when a person is eager and willing to do something. I have noticed that although you all work really hard, I have seen some people not getting along with one another or not being friendly enough to our patients. The first thing I would do is use the Hierarchy of needs technique by creating work that is challenging for each individual, so that everyone knows what is expected of them. As a team we will be making decisions together and every person will be involved with that. We will discuss matters and then take up a vote to see which decision we will keep and comply with.
