Introduction

Career development will be an essential part of the corporate culture at InterClean. All employees will be afforded the opportunity to pursue careers in other areas of the company. Management will encourage all employees to work to the best of their ability and to take advantage of all the training made available to them. Feedback will be provided to all employees regarding all tasks whether job related or not, and employees will have the chance to provide feedback to management as well. All of this will come at a price to InterClean however we expect that the benefit will far outweigh the cost.

Opportunities

“Traditionally, formal appraisal is done once, or at best twice, a year. Research, however, has indicated that once or twice a year is far too infrequent” (Cascio, 2006, p351) (Meyer, 1991). Feedback will be given to the InterClean sales representatives on a quarterly basis, unless otherwise needed. Once employees receive the feedback employees will be given the opportunity to respond to the feedback. They will be given the chance to get additional training if necessary; additionally they will be given the chance to provide additional training to those in need. Employees who consistently receive positive feedback will be given the opportunity for promotion .

Higher Level of Performance

Everyone on the sales team will be given the tools needed to meet all sales goals, and it is ultimately the responsibility of the employee to become a high performer. To motivate employee to have a high level of performance management will make additional training available to all employees to improve on skills they may be lacking. Management will off non monetary rewards. According to Cascio “If there is an excessive delay between effective performance and receipt of the reward, then the reward loses its potential to motivate subsequent high performance” (Cascio, 2006, p331).
