Service Request Sr-Rm-022, Part 2 Application Architecture and Process Design The way to define way to define architecture and process design is this way. Wise Geek defines application architecture as "the organization design of an entire software application, including all sub-components and external applications interchanges. There are several design patterns that are used to define an application architecture" (wiseGEEK, 2013). The design patterns are created to meet the objectives described in the system requirements. "The activity of determining the workflow, equipment needs, and implementation requirements for a particular process, " is the definition of process design. "Process design typically uses a number of tools including flowcharting, process simulation software, and scale models" (BusinessDictionary.com,2013). Riordan will need to be based on a client-server achitecture because this is a nonfunctional requirement that has more benefits than a server-based or client-based server. The major benefits in a client-server are; scalability, adaptable support, reliable networking and separation of logic. Scalability adjusts storage and processing within the server. Adaptation support is the ability to support different clients and servers. The server can also separate logic’s without changing any other data. The final feature allows the server to maintain the network in case of any errors or application crashes(Dennis, Wixom, & Roth, 2012). Security Controls Information system highest prioraty is security and companys that value there business know this.
