Too often employee's spend valuable time trying to figure out what their purpose, and responsibilities are when being a part of a team. It is necessary that teams establish ground rules so that the team is successful with any project they face. Team Charters are an official way to establish these rules amongst team - essentially improving teamwork and gearing for success. This document delineates the strategic goals of the team, and helps team members recognize their complementary skills, their common purpose, common goals and mutual accountability (Byrd & Luthy, 2010, pg. 14). The Team Charter provides a framework for ongoing discussions between the team and with regard to the team’s direction and progress. Additionally, the development of a Team Charter encourages an understanding and buy-in of the team. Investing the time to develop a charter essentially will reduce any confusion about the team's objectives. Lastly, the charter also provides the information needed to reduce the risk of rework, enabling the team to get it right the first time and move on to the next project.

To ensure that the team's overall performance is successful in achieving timely results with regard to constructing model teams - this team was formed to complete the task of setting the gateway for team collaboration improvement. The goal is to develop and promote positive teamwork, successful collaboration, and to in hence the ability to work with teams of various sizes, revenue, and experience levels.
Duration and Time Commitment
